- beat Scott Lloyd and James Acheson-Gray 7-6, 7-5
The annual fixture against AELTC, playing for the Peter Jackson Cup, is a highlight of the PUBS calendar.
The PUBS started off strongly in the first round of matches, winning through some hard fought close contests, with tie-breakers in two matches happening in quick succession. Happily, the PUBS team just managed to get it over the line and by the time we paused for an enjoyable lunch on the Clubhouse balcony, we were 3-0 up. The second round followed suit with the PUBS continuing in similar fashion. The score lines didn’t quite reflect the closeness of the matches, with the PUBS pair of Nicholas Nugent and Kristian Hunter managing to get another tie break over the line to end the day with a very strong 6-0 result.
After the tennis we enjoyed a very sociable afternoon tea in the Member’s dining room and were delighted to be presented with the Peter Jackson cup for 2022.
This match is a special and particularly enjoyable day and we so greatly appreciate the bond that the PSOBLTA has with the AELTC. Our thanks go to the AELTC team, The Club and all the staff for looking after us and making us feel so very welcome.
