The Public School Old Boys played against Edgbaston Priory on Sunday, 21 August, and once again the fixture was played on the club’s fantastic grass courts.

The Pubs found themselves 2-0 up after the first round of matches, with a close match for the first pair (Jon Proctor and debutant Paul Cowie) who won in a third set championship tiebreak. Edgbaston Priory fought back in the second round, and having saved a match point, they eventually won the final match in a third set championship tiebreak to tie the fixture at 2-2. It was a “winning draw” given that the Pubs managed to accumulate more games, after the number of sets were tied.

The teams enjoyed afternoon tea in the clubhouse, whilst discussing some of the turning points of the afternoon! Many thanks to Edgbaston Priory Club once again for their fantastic hospitality, and thanks to Leyla Ogan (EPC Racquets Manager) for arranging the fixture. We look forward to coming back next year.
