A strong PUBS team of Mark Whitehouse, Matt Kirby, Dom Hemy, Jamie Muirhead, Cam Johnson and Alex Flory made the trip up to Cambridge on Saturday 20 May to take on a confident and well practiced Cambridge University Blues team on their home turf – the Fenners Grass.
The PUBS managed to set the record straight on a beautiful sunny day, after a run of close defeats in recent years, with some strong performances all round. The only fixture in the calendar featuring both singles and doubles, the match stood tightly poised at 3-3 after the first round, befores some stelar grass court doubles from the PUBS team sealed the deal 5-4 in the crucial final round. Thanks to the Cambridge team for their hospitable welcome as always, and well done to the PUBS team.
