The annual fixture against Bromsgrove School was played on Saturday, 4th May. We were fortunate with the weather, and managed to get started on time whilst avoiding the rain showers that did their best to take us off court. Bromsgrove turned out a strong team, with two of their four players looking to go to college in America this August.

It was a closely contested match with several tie-breaks involved, but the Pubs managed to squeeze through 3-1. Experience seemed to work well, given the fact that the Pubs first pair had a combined age of 105 compared to the 33 years of the Bromsgrove pair – the match came down to a final set Championship tie-break.

The match was enjoyed by all, and played in good spirit, and it was finished off nicely with some pork baps and beers (not for the students!) Thanks to Bromsgrove School for once again putting on a great fixture, and match supper.
